World-Class Canadian Golfers To Compete At The 2000 Whirlpool Canadian PGA Women's Championship

Burlington, ONTARIO (August 28, 2000) - Fresh off her first career LPGA tournament victory, top Canadian LPGA money winner Lorie Kane returns to defend her title for the fifth consecutive year at the 2000 Whirlpool Canadian PGA Women's Championship on September 12-13, 2000 at the Burlington Golf and Country Club. Sixty of Canada's top women golf professionals are expected to join Kane in the hunt for a purse of $50,000 and a complete set of premium Whirlpool appliances valued at more than $7,000.

The 2000 Whirlpool CPGA Women's Championship will boast one of the strongest fields of Canadian women professional golfers ever gathered, many of whom compete on the LPGA and Futures Tour in the United States.

This year's Whirlpool CPGA Women's Championship marks the fourth consecutive year in which the national championship has been sponsored by Whirlpool Home Appliances.

Scheduled starting times for the 14th annual, two-day, 36-hole national championship are at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12 and Wednesday, September 13. The Championship's winner will receive a cheque for $10,000 and a complete set of premium Whirlpool appliances, including the new Conquest Refrigerator, Catalyst Cleaning Action Washer, Senseon Dryer, Euro Series Dishwasher and Whirlpool Gold® Range.

Daily "Grounds Only" tickets can be purchased at the Burlington Golf and Country Club, 422 North Shore Blvd., East in Burlington, Ontario or by calling (905) 634-7728. Daily tickets are $5 and provide admission to the grounds.
