scoring opportunity of the afternoon as Jackeline Alvarez got in behind the Canadian
defence to only be stopped by Canada’s Karina LeBlanc.
In the
42nd minute, Hooper continued Canada’s scoring with her second of the match
when she found herself all alone outside the 18 yard box and chipped the ball
over the head of Herra to earn her sixth goal of the tournament.
In the
second half, Christine Sinclair converted a Burtini corner kick in the 49th minute
of play to bring Canada’s lead to 3-0. Three goals were all Canada needed
as Karina LeBlanc earned her second shutout in two games.
